Q.1.        A start-up company plans to come up with a mobile application to be used by the occupants of any apartment to facilitate access to the resources provided by it. The residents of an apartment could use the mobile App for booking the facilities like badminton court, swimming pool, party hall gym slots, and other facilities available internally. The company wants to market the App to the society of the apartments.
The company wants to make sure a market exists for such kind of a mobile App.
What kind of research, do you suggest? And why?
Assume the research result is positive and there is a market for such mobile apps, use Persona as a design tool develop two relevant personas with details.
With the Persona in place, sketch the wireframes for the above mentioned Mobile App Scenario.                                                                                                 [3 + 6 + 8 = 17]

Q.2.        A consumer electronics company which manufactures television sets, washing machines, refrigerators and other appliances has a mobile application to support after sales service for its consumers. There has been some reports of negative feedback for this mobile application. In the role of a usability test consultant, your objective is to prepare a report on their mobile application’s usability. Some of the usability tasks could be identified as service, installation, maintenance, and repair related activities in the mobile application. Keeping usability in mind, design at least five relevant tasks to be performed by a select group of participants which should help you to get feedback/data to help in your report.                                                                                                                               [10]

Q.3 (b)          The goals of progressive disclosure is to Simplify a UI by focusing on the essential, yet revealing additional detail as needed. Q.4 (b)          As a usability engineer what do you think a user research method should capture/uncover/look for?  Mention any two methods used for user research.           [3]
